DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Detroit Tigers legendary catcher Bill Freehan has died.
Freehan spent his entire 15-year career with Detroit and was a member of the 1968 World Series Championship team. He later served as coach of the University of Michigan baseball team from 1990-95.
Freehan had been battling Alzheimer’s disease when he died yesterday at the age of 79.
