ALLEN PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions cut five players yesterday ahead of today’s deadline to trim the roster to 80.
Detroit released wide receiver Darius Jennings. The Lions also waived defensive tackle P.J. Johnson, running back Javon Leake, linebacker Robert McCray and quarterback Jordan Ta’amu.
All NFL clubs will have to cut their rosters to 53 players before the start of the season.
