ST. LOUIS, MO (WKZO AM/FM) – Miguel Cabrera hammered the 501st home run of his career as the Detroit Tigers beat the Cardinals 4-3 in St. Louis Tuesday night.
Robbie Grossman also had a home run for Detroit. Casey Mize pitched five scoreless innings and drove in a run with a bases loaded walk for his first career RBI.
The Tigers have won three of their last four games.
Jack Flaherty gave up four runs over two innings and exited with right shoulder tightness for the Cardinals. Nolan Arenado drove in two for St. Louis, which has lost three of four.
In this afternoon’s series finale, Tarik Skubal gets the start for Detroit while St. Louis sends Jon Lester to the mound.
