COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – Branch County Treasurer Julie Waterbury announced during Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting that she was resigning from her position with the county effective on September 24.
Waterbury said she has accepted a position as the Chief Financial Officer with Grand Ledge Community Schools.
She will also be stepping down as a member of the Building Authority.
Waterbury began serving as County Treasurer in January after being elected to office in November of 2020. She took over for Ann Vrablic who retired at the end of 2020. Waterbury defeated two other candidates during the August 2020 G.O.P. Primary.
She worked for Southern Michigan Bank & Trust and had spent 15 years working in K-12 public school finance at Coldwater Community Schools and Homer Community Schools. Waterbury was appointed as the Girard Township Treasurer in June 2014 and was elected to a four year term in November 2016.
