COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Michigan Gas Utilities say they are helping area first responders receive lifesaving equipment through their rewarding of Responders Grants.
Funding has been announced for four area fire departments.
The Montgomery Fire Department through grant funds received new automated external defibrillators which can be used during cardiac emergencies.
Other grant recipients include the Colon Community Fire and Rescue Department where they will get a new fire hose.
The Hopkins Area and Ottawa Lake Fire Departments both got grants for new multi-gas detectors.
Since the grant program began in 2015, over $55,000 has been provided by Michigan Gas Utilities to emergency response agencies in southern Michigan.
