MARSHALL, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday as a new $30 million cannabis facility opened in Marshall.
Local dignitaries including State Senator John Bizon and State Representative Matt Hall were on hand as Chicago-based Cresco Labs was officially welcomed to Michigan.
The cultivation and processing facility will be at the same location on Oliver Drive that used to house the Campbell’s Soup manufacturing facility.
Cresco is said to be the nations leading cannabis wholesaler. Their web site states, “We are stewards, owners and leaders building the most trusted and fastest growing cannabis company in the world. From careful cultivation to consistent distribution, we provide a portfolio of brands thoughtfully made for every consumer.”
Cresco operates in ten states. They currently employ about 60 persons at the Marshall facility with plans to add 110 employees sometime in the near future.
