LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Officials are warning residents about the latest phone scam where the caller claims to be with the Michigan State Police. They say the caller tells residents that there is a warrant out for their arrest and that they owe money.
MSP officials are reminding everyone that Troopers do not ever solicit money over the phone or threaten arrests in exchange for money. Anyone who receives a call like this should hang up immediately and not give any of their personal information or account numbers to the scammers.
