GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The first measurable snow could make its way to parts of Michigan as early as next week. Some forecast models indicate that areas of the Upper Peninsula and the northwest Lower Peninsula could see an inch or two of accumulating snow.
Even though West Michigan is not expected to see any measurable snow soon, forecast temps will be cold enough for most of next week to allow for a rain/snow mix at times, but not enough to stick.
The average date for the first measurable snow in communities in West Michigan, according to weather almanacs, is between November 20 and November 30. But in recent years, it has often happened much later than that.
