DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings return to action as the Florida Panthers visit Little Caesars Arena tonight.
Detroit is in second place in the Atlantic with a 4-2-and-1 record.
Florida leads the division at 7-0-and-0 but there was some major off the ice news for the Panthers Thursday as Joel Quenneville resigned as head coach. The team announced an interim head coach will later be named but a source told ESPN that assistant Andrew Burnett will take over on an interim basis.
Quenneville came under scrutiny when the investigation into the Blackhawks abuse case found that he was aware that Chicago video coach Brad Aldrich sexually assaulted a player in 2010 and did nothing about it.
Quenneville had been with Florida for two seasons.
