LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Polls in the hundreds of Michigan jurisdictions holding elections Tuesday, November 2, will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. for in-person voting.
Voters with absentee ballots must return their ballots to their clerk’s office or secure ballot drop box by 8 p.m. tomorrow for them to be counted.
Personalized election information including the locations of voters’ polling places, clerk offices and secure drop boxes is available at Michigan.gov/Vote.
“No matter how they choose to cast their ballot tomorrow, voters can be confident that their vote will be counted and their voice will be heard,” Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said in a statement. “Election officials across the state continue to work hard in service of democracy and are prepared to conduct another successful election.”
Voters can prepare to vote in person by viewing their sample ballot at Michigan.gov/Vote.
They are encouraged to bring identification with them when they vote, however they will be allowed to vote if they sign a sworn affidavit at the polling place if they do not have ID with them.
Voters who requested and received an absentee ballot and would like to vote at their polling place instead should bring their absentee ballot with them, although they will be able to vote without it by signing an affidavit that voids the absentee ballot.
Eligible citizens who have not registered to vote can do so and cast their ballot in one trip at their city or township clerk’s office until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
To register, they must bring a document verifying residency, such as a utility bill. Digital copies of residency documents are acceptable.
Ahead of Election Day, more than 400,000 Michigan citizens have already cast absentee ballots.
