MSU Extension offering grants to organizations to assist in efforts against invasive species

EAST LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan State University Extension office is accepting applications for the “Clean Boats, Clean Waters” program.

Grants are provided through state and federal funding, and are aimed at groups who work to stop the spread of aquatic invasive species in the Great Lakes.

Examples of previous grant awards include the installation of boat cleaning sites at public access points, and events that promote boat cleaning at launch areas.

Applications are being accepted through December 17^th.
