KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University is now college football bowl eligible after the Broncos rallied to defeat Akron 45-40 Tuesday night at Waldo Stadium.
Sean Tyler scored three touchdowns, one receiving, one rushing and the final one on a 96-yard kickoff return. Kaleb Elleby threw two touchdown passes, including a 45-yarder to Corey Crooms with a minute left to play.
The Broncos are now 6-4 overall and 3-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
Eastern Michigan lost to Ohio 34-26 last night in MAC football action. Samson Evans rushed for two touchdowns for the Eagles in the loss.
EMU drops to 6-and-4 overall and 3-and-3 in the conference and hosts Western Michigan next Tuesday.
