OXFORD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The parents of the Oxford High School school shooting suspect are being charged.
Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald says 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley’s parents are facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter each.
McDonald said the dad bought the gun on Black Friday later used in the shooting as an apparent gift for Ethan. On the day of the shooting, Ethan’s parents were summoned to the school after Ethan drew a gun shooting a person, with a laughing emoji and the words “help me” along with “my life is useless.”
The parents resisted immediately taking their son out of school and never checked to see if he had the gun in his backpack.
The teen is facing charges as an adult for allegedly killing four students and injuring seven other individuals.
