KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE – Richard Trask has pleaded no contest in this case, according to an update from MLive Monday.
As part of a plea deal, a felony charge of assault to commit great bodily harm less than murder was reduced to a misdemeanor aggravated assault charge.
He was sentenced to two days in jail, which he had previously served.
In this case, Trask’s wife noted that he may have been drugged during the night of the assault. Trask also said that he did not recall the events of the night.
Trask’s lawyer also said that he has been attending counseling programs as a result of this incident.

Former FBI agent Richard Trask is due in court today on charges he beat and choked his wife at home in Kalamazoo County last year.
Trask was the lead agent in the case against several people accused of plotting to kidnap and possibly kill Governor Gretchen Whitmer over her COVID-19 measures.
He was arrested last July after the alleged attack against his wife after they left a swinger’s party at a hotel, which she says she did not want to attend.
Trask is expected to enter a plea.
