BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Battle Creek man will be headed to prison after being sentenced for sex crimes from 2019.
That’s according to an update from WOOD TV Tuesday.
Previously, 22-year-old Dawson Burk had pleaded guilty criminal sexual conduct charges related to a case involving a 12-year-old who became pregnant.
Burk was charged in August of 2019 for threatening the young female and shoving her to cause a miscarriage. It followed a sexual assault investigation that began in June of that year when it was learned the girl was pregnant.
He later pleaded guilty to charges in September 2021.
According to the update Tuesday, Burk will now face between nine and 20 years in prison, while also receiving credit for 838 days served.
