KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – State Representative Julie M. Rogers is seeking re-election in November to the new 41st State House of Representatives seat.
Rep. Rogers is presently serving as State Representative in the current 60th House District, which was redrawn to the 41st House District during the new independent redistricting process.
“During the nine years I have served Kalamazoo, both locally and in state government, I have worked to improve the quality of life for our residents,” Rep. Rogers said in a statement. “Strengthening our public health, funding our roads and bridges, and protecting the environment are all initiatives I have worked on. As a practicing physical therapist, I know first-hand the challenges our health systems face each day. As one of the few legislators with direct health care experience, I have been able to use my expertise to help with combatting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and other public health issues.”
Before serving in the Michigan House of Representatives, Rogers served eight years as a Kalamazoo County Commissioner.
“Serving in both the minority in the State House and the majority at the local level has helped me be a better bipartisan legislator who can reach across the aisle to get things done for the people of Michigan,” Rep. Rogers said.
Rep. Julie Rogers has lived in Kalamazoo for the past 19 years with her spouse, Dr. Edward Orloff.
