BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Calhoun County officials reported on Wednesday a new one day record for COVID-19 cases thanks to the surge of the omicron variant.
They reported 345 positive cases over a 24 hour period.
Calhoun County Public Health Officer Eric Pessell says this will probably continue for a couple of weeks and there will be disruptions.
But Pessell added, “If this follows what appears has happened in Europe, the U.K. and South Africa and maybe what we’re seeing out east right now, we can expect a precipitous fall sometime at the end of this month or early February and might see things adjusted to more of a norm.”
Pessell added that even though there will be disruptions, we will get through this.
