BIRMINGHAM AL (WKZO AM/FM) – Jeff Fisher will be at the helm of the Michigan Panthers as the United States Football League returns this spring,
Fisher will be head coach and general manager of the Panthers after spending 22 seasons in the NFL coaching the Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans and LA Rams.
The Panthers were the first USFL champions in 1983 and merged with the Oakland Invaders in 1984 before the league ended after the 1985 season.
The 2022 USFL includes eight teams and all games will be played in Birmingham, Alabama beginning March 2.
