BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – It was a rough night in the Big Eight Conference for the Bronson Vikings and the Quincy Orioles boys basketball teams.
The Orioles lost at home to arch river Reading 55-30. The Orioles dropped to 3-9 overall and 1-7 in the Big 8 Conference.
Meanwhile, Bronson was beaten by Concord 59-44 as the Yellow Jackets remained unbeaten in the conference.
Concord leads the Big 8 standings at 7-0 followed by Homer at 6-2 and Reading at 5-2.
The Vikings are now 3-5 in the Big 8 Conference and 5-8 overall.
Following Wednesday’s snowstorm which dumped nearly a foot of snow on the area, travel conditions were still adverse enough to force a postponement of Union City’s game at Springport. It has been rescheduled for next Saturday, February 12. The JV game will start at 5:00 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m..
Also in the Big 8 on Friday night, Homer defeated Jonesville 49-46 in overtime.
