Hunter Dickinson played through a knee injury Thursday and scored a game-high 22 points to lead Michigan to an 82-58 upset of No. 3 Purdue in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Dickinson canned 8 of 15 shots, including 4 of 6 3-point attempts, and added a game-high nine rebounds. He also dished out four assists as the Wolverines (13-9, 7-5 Big Ten) bolstered a light resume with a runaway win over the first of six Top 25 teams they’ll face before the regular season ends on March 6.
Four other players scored in double figures for Michigan. Eli Brooks went 4 of 4 from 3-point range and added 18 points. Moussa Diabate hit for 15, and Caleb Houstan chipped in 14 points, drilling 4 of 6 3-point tries. DeVante’ Jones netted 11 points and doled out 10 assists.
Jaden Ivey scored 18 points for Purdue (21-4, 10-4). Trevion Williams came off the bench to add 12 points and Zach Edey contributed 10, but Edey played just 17 minutes after finding early foul trouble.
No. 2 Gonzaga 89, Pacific 51
Rasir Bolton scored a season-high 20 points in Spokane, Wash., as the Bulldogs won their 18th consecutive game against the Tigers and improved to 20-1 all-time in the series.
Julian Strawther scored 15 points for Gonzaga (20-2, 9-0 West Coast Conference), who reached 20 wins for the 25th consecutive season. Chet Holmgren had 14 points and six rebounds and Drew Timme added 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds as Gonzaga won its nation-leading 65th consecutive home game.
Alphonso Anderson led Pacific (7-17, 2-7) with 16 points and eight rebounds. Sam Freeman added 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting for the Tigers, who dropped to 0-11 on the road this season.
No. 4 Arizona 72, Washington State 60
Bennedict Mathurin scored 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting to lead the Wildcats past the Cougars in Pullman, Wash.
Azuolas Tubelis had 15 points and Oumar Ballo added 10 in Arizona’s 10th straight win in Pullman. The Wildcats (21-2, 11-1 Pac-12) won their fifth consecutive game.
Michael Flowers had 16 points for Washington State (14-8, 7-4), which saw its five-game winning streak end. Mouhamed Gueye, who earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors this week for the third time this season, departed in the second half with an injured left ankle.
No. 7 Duke 82, Clemson 64
Trevor Keels used a big second half to finish with 25 points as the Blue Devils whipped the host Tigers.
Mark Williams racked up 16 points and Paolo Banchero provided 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils (20-4, 10-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who responded from a last-second loss to Virginia on Monday night.
PJ Hall notched 17 points and Chase Hunter and Naz Bohannon both had 13 points for Clemson (12-12, 4-9), which lost for the seventh time in its past nine games.
No. 22 Saint Mary’s 86, San Diego 57
Logan Johnson scored 16 points, grabbed a season-best nine rebounds and accumulated a career-high five steals as Gaels defeated the Toreros in Moraga, Calif.
Tommy Kuhse added 13 points as Saint Mary’s (20-5, 8-2 WCC) won for the eighth time in the past nine games.
Marcellus Earlington had 14 points and eight rebounds for San Diego (13-12, 6-6). Jase Townsend added 10 points for the Toreros, who dropped their third consecutive game.
No. 23 Murray State 73, Tennessee State 62
KJ Williams racked up a career-high 39 points, 31 coming in the second half, as the Racers shrugged off a ragged first half to get their 13th straight win, beating the Tigers in Nashville.
The Racers (23-2, 13-0 Ohio Valley Conference) played for the first time since their return to the Top 25 after a nearly seven-year absence. Williams outscored Tennessee State 31-26 in the second half and was the only Murray State player to reach double-figure scoring.
Carlos Marshall Jr. led the Tigers (10-15, 5-8) with 13 points. Kenny Cooper and Marcus Fitzgerald Jr. added 12 each, and Kassim Nicholson scored 11.
