Jason Robertson’s overtime goal gave the Dallas Stars a 4-3 victory over the visiting Winnipeg Jets on Friday.
At 3:10 of the extra frame, Robertson converted his own rebound after his initial shot was blocked by Winnipeg defenseman Josh Morrissey. The red-hot Robertson has 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) over his past 18 games.
Jamie Benn had a goal and an assist for the Stars, while Denis Gurianov contributed two assists. Jacob Peterson and Tyler Seguin scored the hosts’ other goals. Dallas has won both games since the All-Star break and seven of the past nine overall.
Mark Scheifele had a goal and an assist for the Jets, including the late equalizer that forced overtime. With 32 seconds remaining in regulation, Scheifele’s blast of a point shot beat a screened Jake Oettinger (31 saves). Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck also made 31 saves.
Oilers 3, Islanders 1
Cody Ceci, Zach Hyman and Jesse Puljujarvi scored as Edmonton won the NHL coaching debut of Jay Woodcroft by beating visiting New York.
Hyman’s 100th career goal, which came in the second period, went down as the game-winner for the Oilers, who fired coach Dave Tippett on Thursday and replaced him with Woodcroft. Mike Smith made 37 saves for Edmonton.
Anthony Beauvillier scored a power-play goal for the Islanders. Ilya Sorokin recorded 33 saves.
Lightning 4, Coyotes 3
Steven Stamkos notched two crucial third-period goals to lead Tampa Bay past Arizona in Glendale, Ariz.
Brayden Point scored his 18th goal of the season and Corey Perry produced the 399th of his career for the Lightning, who moved to 5-0-1 in the second half of back-to-back sets.
Clayton Keller produced a goal and an assist and Alex Galchenyuk and Nick Schmaltz found the net for Arizona, which is 2-8-0 in its past 10 contests. Brian Elliott made 16 saves for Tampa Bay, and Karel Vejmelka recorded 28 for Arizona.
Kraken 4, Ducks 3
Jordan Eberle snapped a 22-game goalless drought dating to early December, scoring the tiebreaking goal at 18:18 of the third period as Seattle defeated host Anaheim.
Ryan Donato tallied twice and Vince Dunn also scored for the Kraken, who rebounded from a 5-2 loss to the lowly Coyotes on Wednesday. Yanni Gourde registered two assists, and Chris Driedger made 24 saves.
Isac Lundestrom had two goals for Anaheim, and Rickard Rakell scored the other. John Gibson stopped 23 of 27 shots in the Ducks’ first game since the All-Star break.
