DETROIT MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Despite a slight drop in the statewide average price of gas, AAA of Michigan cautions that if crude oil prices continue their upward swing, motorists in the state will see more increases at the pump.
Adrienne Woodland, a spokesperson for AAA, stated that the tension between Russia and the Ukraine could continue to put pressure on the worldwide fuel markets, and a breakout of hostilities could result in a sharp increase in the price of crude oil…trickling down to drivers paying more at the pump.
The average price of unleaded regular in Michigan sits at $3.35, down two cents from last week, and 88 cents higher than this time last year.
