LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Whitmer has announced the creation of 7 new hubs in the MI Tri-Share Child Care Pilot Program, including one in Kalamazoo County.
A public-private partnership, the Tri-Share program is designed to increase the availability of high-quality, affordable day care for parents who work, while also insuring that talented workers remain in the field.
Whitmer stated in a release that “Expanding access to high-quality, affordable child care will help every kid succeed from day one and help parents get back to work knowing that their kids are safe and cared for. We must continue investing in programs like Tri-Share that put Michiganders first and help us grow our economy.”
The new facilitator hub in Kalamazoo, Southwest Child Care Resources, will act as an intermediary between employers, families and child care providers, and provides overall program management.
