BATLLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Officials with the Calhoun County Public Health Department announced on Wednesday that with COVID-19 cases caused by the omicron variant subsiding, they are going to be easing the county’s COVID-19 quarantine order.
As of next Monday, February 21, individuals will no longer be required to isolate if they are a COVID-19 close contact.
County Health Public Health Officer Eric Pessel said they are now in a much better place as far as the hospital numbers are concerned with the omicron surge easing in recent weeks.
The quarantine order that is being lifted Monday was initially issued in May of 2021.
Calhoun County has reported over 28,000 confirmed COVID-19 since the pandemic began almost two years ago with 514 confirmed deaths because of the virus.
