COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Legg Middle School girls basketball teams split with Marshall on Monday night.
The eighth grade A team improved to 8-0 with a 51-43 victory. Coley Burkhardt led Legg with 20 points while Rylie VanAken had 14 points and four assists. Mya Porter had 13 points and four steals.
The eighth grade B team lost 24-15. Kadence George, Natalia Blankenship and Kialey Mercer all scored four points while Abby Garcia had six rebounds.
The seventh grade A team lost 45-30. TK Boys had eight points, 11 rebounds and six steals. Aubrey Gebbink also scored a season-high eight points.
The seventh grade B team won 46-10. Marie Powers led Legg with 16 points while Kinley Brown had 12 points.
The St. Charles Borromeo Cougars were beaten by Trinity Lutheran of Sturgis 15-11. Scoring for the Cougars were Carter Shaffer with five points. Luke Aerts followed with four points. The Cougars play at Factoryville Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.. The Sturgis Christian League Tournament will be played on Saturday at St. Mary’s Assumption in Bronson.
