PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater varsity swim and dive team peaked at the right time as every single competitor had a personal best at the SMAC Championship hosted by Portage Northern.
Drake Thornton broke the team record in the 100 Breaststroke. The Cardinals improved their season standings by moving up to ninth place because of their strong showing this weekend.
Kyle Litwiller finished sixth in diving. Drake Thornton finished 12th in the 100 Breast and 19th in the 200 Individual Medley.
Lucas Wischmeyer finished 15th in the 50 Freestyle and 17th in the 100 Backstroke.
All “A” and “B” relays qualified for the finals as well. The Cards finish their regular season with a makeup dual meet on Tuesday at Battle Creek Lakeview.
