DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Landyn Crance of Union City won the Division Four 125 pound state championship on Saturday as eight Branch County wrestlers earned All State honors during the M.H.S.A.A. Individual Finals at Detroit’s Ford Field.
Crance scored eight points in the first period and went on to defeat Austin Marry of Hudson on a 8-1 decision.
Crance finished his sophomore season with a 45-3 record.
His teammate Logan Mears was beaten in the 103 pound championship match by fellow freshman Logan Gilbert of Martin on a 10-5 decision. Mears finished his season with a 40-7 record.
Brayton Mears, Colton Russell, Garrett Iobe and Grady Iobe from Union City along with Aiden Fill and Jacob Dixon of Bronson also made the podium in Division Four.
Mears was third at 140 pounds, Russell was seventh at 145, Garrett Iobe was third at 160 and Grady Iobe was third at 215. Fill was seventh at 103 and Dixon was eighth at 189.
