BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Seven Branch County bowlers competed in the M.H.S.A.A. individual finals on Saturday.
Bronson’s Idalia Hernandez finished third in qualifying and made it to the Division Four girls championship match at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek before she was beaten by Morgan Brunner of Gobles 408 to 380.
Brunner became the third repeat girls champion in 19 seasons of the M.H.S.A.A. Bowling Finals.
Bronson’s Hadassah Bloom was fifth in qualifying and Morgan McConn was 11th. They faced each other in the first round of match play with McConn winning 310-293.
Brunner then defeated McConn in the quarterfinals 386-320.
Bronson’s Shaun McAfee was 46th in the boys qualifying.
Coldwater’s Violet Waltke and Emalyn Shidler finished outside of the top 16 in qualifying at the Division Two finals in Canton. Waltke was 21st while Shidler was 33rd.
Quincy’s Jenica Kaser was 48th in qualifying at the Division Three Finals in Jackson.
