BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – After two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers for the National Cereal Festival say they will have an event in downtown Battle Creek this year.
The festival which features the world’s longest breakfast table is set to take place on June 11, 2022 in Festival Market Square .
The family-friendly festival highlights Battle Creek’s heritage as the birthplace of the cereal industry and is a tradition that has gone on for over 50 years.
Those who attend will be able to enjoy a variety of entertainment, live music, children’s activities, inflatables, and of course free cereal.
When the event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021, Kellogg Company and Post Consumers Brand donated products that would been served during the festival to the South Michigan Food Bank.
Organizers said last year it was important to adhere to federal, state and local health guidelines. They also acknowledged that with the limited capacity limits for outdoor events, there was no way they could have safely accommodated the 7,500 patrons that normally attend.
