MARSHALL, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Marshall Public Schools are closed for Thursday after Superintendent Becky Jones said the district got information of a student making social media threats.
She said in a letter sent to district parents that several students, staff and parents were made aware of the threats being made by the student and reported it to building and district administrators.
District officials are working with local authorities on the threat and Jones says as of 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning, the investigation was still ongoing.
She said all district buildings in Marshall and Albion will be closed on Thursday, “out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of students and staff in mind.”
Jones says no staff will report and all buildings will be in lockdown until further notice.
Jones is hopefull classes can resume on Friday.
