GREENVILLE, SC (WKZO AM/FM) – Coach Mike Krzyzewski final tournament isn’t done just yet.
The two-seed Duke Blue Devils defeated seven-seed Michigan State University 85-76 in the second round in Greenville, South Carolina Sunday.
Krzyzewski became the first D-1 coach to win 1,200 games with the victory. Paolo Banchero powered Duke with 19 points, while Jeremy Roach, Mark Williams and Wendell Moore Jr. each scored 15.
Michigan State was led by Gabe Brown with 18 points and Marcus Bingham Jr. had 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Blue Devils closed the game on a 20-6 spurt.
The University of Michigan Wolverines are moving on to the Sweet Sixteen. The 11-seed Wolverines knocked out the three-seed Tennessee Volunteers with a 76-68 win on Saturday night in Indianapolis.
Michigan will play two-seed Villanova Thursday in the Sweet 16.
