COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 2022 high school girls soccer season got underway Friday as the Coldwater Cardinals and Bronson Vikings both picked up wins on the turf at Cardinal Field.
Coldwater’s varsity team shut out Sturgis 6-0. Masyn Marsh picked up the hat trick with two goals in the first half and a goal in the second. Cara Miller, Lily Bockheim, and Bella Lozada also scored in the debut for new Cardinal head coach Keith Johnson.
Bronson defeated the Coldwater JV team 4-1. Stephanie Marin had the natural hat trick with three first-half goals, while Itzel Sanchez Luna had a penalty kick goal for the Vikings. The lone Cardinal goal came on a free kick from Kylee Barnett.
Coldwater returns to action Monday afternoon at Adrian, while Bronson hosts Onsted next Tuesday.
