QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles baseball team came up short in a double header loss to Harper Creek on Friday night.
For the second time this week, the Orioles gave up a lead in the late innings and lost a one run game.
Quincy took a 6-2 lead into the sixth inning but the Beavers scored five runs in the inning and went ahead 7-6.
The Orioles loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning but failed to score and the Beavers escaped with a 7-6 win.
Brady Mescher and Karsen Maurer each recorded two hits for the Orioles. Maurer had two RBI’s.
Hunter Tinervia was hit by pitches three times and scored three runs.
Harper Creek scored four runs in the first inning of the second game and went on to an 11-0 win.
The Orioles had a tough game on defense as only two of the Harper Creek runs were earned.
Quincy was blanked on four hits.
The Orioles return to action on Tuesday at home against Concord
