(Reuters) – Texas’ oil regulator on Tuesday took a major step towards an application to gain oversight of the permitting for Class XI carbon capture wells, the agency said, a move that would speed up the approval process for such wells.
The Railroad Commission of Texas approved publishing proposed amendments to its carbon dioxide rules for public comment, which will then be sent to the Environmental Protection Agency as part of a pre-application.
