Ryan Scott Millirans, 18, of Athens, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 in Urbandale as a result of an automobile accident.
A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at North Athens Baptist Church, 2020 M Drive South, Athens, MI 49011, with Pastor Mark Behr officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail in Union City.
Ryan was born March 9, 2004 in Michigan and was the son of Brandy Millirans of Athens.
Ryan was a junior at Union City High School, where he participated in cross country. Additionally, he was a student in the Power Technology program at the Calhoun Area Career Center and enjoyed working on his car, listening to country music and fishing.
He was employed at Arby’s in Battle Creek.
Ryan was a very active young man. He belonged to Boy Scout Troop 355 and had restored the Children’s Garden at Leila Arboretum for his Eagle Scout project – which was still pending final approval. He had also completed the first tier of the Congressional Award program.
Ryan attended the North Athens Baptist Church and enjoyed helping people in his free time. He stuck with projects until he finished them. Everyone described him as awesome. He had signed a letter of intent with the United States Marine Corps.
Left to cherish Ryan’s memory are his mother, Brandy Millirans; grandmother, Janice Millirans of Marshall; brothers, Chris Millirans of Athens, Michael Millirans of Athens and Russell Millirans of Marshall; his Aunt Penny Millirans of Marshall; and his Uncle Travis Millirans of Battle Creek.
