DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Seth Brown played the role of hero for the Oakland Athletics in their 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers Thursday afternoon.
Brown hit a tie breaking two-run homer in the eighth inning to help lift Oakland to the victory. AJ Pulk was credited with the win after pitching a couple of scoreless innings in relief.
Michael Fulmer suffered his second loss of the year after allowing the two-run home run to Brown.
Tucker Barnhart led the way at the plate for Detroit after going two-for-three with an RBI.
The Tigers are now 9-and-23 while the A’s improved to 14-and-19.
Detroit hosts the Orioles starting tonight with lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound. The opening pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
