BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Negotiations are reportedly underway for the City of Bronson to have an auxiliary ambulance stationed at their fire station, in case a LifeCare Ambulance isn’t available in a timely fashion.
Due to a lack of staffing, LifeCare hasn’t been able to meet its response time standards, which promises an ambulance will arrive within 12 minutes of being dispatched at least 80% of the time.
According to Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber, the plan would be to dispatch the extra ambulance with fire department personnel if a normal ambulance isn’t available within 10 minutes.
Any agreement with LifeCare Ambulance would still need to be approved by the Bronson City Council and each of the six member townships of the rural fire association.
