DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM,/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings have a new head man behind the bench.
Detroit has hired Derek Lalonde as its next head coach.
Lalonde has been an assistant with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the past four years. The 49-year-old won a pair of Stanley Cup titles during his time in Tampa Bay.
The Red Wings were in search of a new head coach after moving on from longtime coach Jeff Blashill.
