DETROIT, MI (WKZO-AM/FM) – Derek Lalonde is excited for the challenge of running the Detroit Red Wings. The new head coach told reporters he’ll be reaching out to players in the near future to start building relationships.
Lalonde also praised GM Steve Yzerman for some of the young talent he’s brought to the club saying they were hard to play against when he was an assistant in Tampa.
Lalonde was officially introduced as Detroit’s new bench boss yesterday.
