THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan State Police troopers from the Marshall Post responded to a two vehicle crash in St. Joseph County resulting in two deaths on Thursday, July 21.
Authorities say it happened on US-131 near Youngs Prarie Road in Constantine Township. Investigation showed that a semi-truck with trailer was traveling southbound on US-131 when a 2019 GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling northbound crossed the centerline and struck the semi head-on.
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi taken to Three Rivers Health for treatment of injuries.
Drug/Alcohol use are not believed to be factors at this time and seatbelt use is unknown.
Assisting on scene were members of Lifecare ambulance, Constantine and White Pigeon Fire Departments and MDOT.
This investigation remains under investigation.
