OAKLAND, CA (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers and Athletics split a doubleheader in Oakland Thursday.
Detroit won the first game 7-2 while the Athletics took game two 5-0.
Jeimer Candelario homered in the first game for Detroit while Tarik Skubal gave up an unearned run over six innings to pick up the win. Seth Brown homered in the loss for the Athletics.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Sean Murphy homered while six Oakland pitchers combined to hold the Tigers to zero runs and four hits. Domingo Acevedo earned the win for the Athletics.
The Tigers are 38-and-56 and the Athletics are 33-and-62.
Detroit is off Friday and will host the Minnesota Twins tomorrow evening.
