UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Josh Fleming has returned as the Funeral Director at Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services.
It was announced earlier this month that he had taken a job at another funeral home but he returned to Lighthouse just a few days later.
He said in a post on the Lighthouse Facebook page, “First off, I would like to thank each and every one of you for the kind words and messages you left me upon learning I was leaving. However, 4 ½ days later, I returned, knowing Lighthouse is where I truly belong. So to those of you who were thinking about mailing a card – you can save your stamp. Leaving Lighthouse turned out to be a huge mistake. I realized immediately how much I would miss serving the communities of Union City, Athens, my hometown of Tekonsha and the surrounding areas. Being a funeral director is more to me than just a job – it’s a lifestyle.”
He went on to says, “When the phone rings at 3:00 AM, I spring into action without hesitation. As difficult as it can be at times, especially when the person who died is someone I know, it still brings me great comfort to care for the families in our wonderful communities. And as families who have just lost someone know, meeting with a familiar face can make all the difference.
I’m so grateful to be back caring for the local people who mean so much to me. For those of you who were betting I would come back, go ahead and collect on your bet. Fortunately, you were right.”
