Sandra “Sandy” Jean Henson, 86, of Quincy, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. She was born November 25, 1935 in Ann Arbor to Paul and Georgia (Robards) Gauss. She married Samuel Henson and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2004.
Sandy graduated from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor. She was a former telephone operator for Michigan Bell and later AT&T. She had a generous heart and was always donating items to those in need, whether it be food, clothing or handmade items she had crocheted. Those who knew her will remember her as the infamous “Sandy” from the neighborhood.
Survivors include eight children, Lynn Fierek, Robert (Hermila) Savery, Samuel (Christina) Henson, Timothy (Lori) Henson, Julia (James) Underwood, Wanda (Douglas) Metz, Merrilyn (Gregory) Ruch and Paul Henson; 34 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Leon Gauss; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel; son-in-law, Steve Fierek; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life Open House will be held on August 17 from 2 pm – 7 pm. Please contact family members for details. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
