ORLAND, IN (WTVB) – The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department has released updated and corrected information regarding a fatal crash on State Road 120 east of Orland, Indiana which took place on Friday afternoon.
The individuals in the 2012 Volkswagen have been identified.
The driver of the vehicle was 43-year-old Lonnie Lee Bright of rural Fremont, Indiana.
The Sheriff’s Department says Bright suffered extensive blunt force trauma and is hospitalized in grave condition.
The front seat passenger who was pronounced dead at the scene was 33-year-old Breanna Jeanne Bright of rural Fremont.
The two back seat passengers were five-year-old Journey Bright who still remains hospitalized in critical condition at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne and three-month-old Granger Bright who was treated at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola and has since been released.
The Sheriff’s Department says initial information indicated that Lonnie Lee Bright and five-year-old Journey Bright were first transported to Cameron Hospital and then flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center by Samaritan helicopter was incorrect.
They were both transported from the scene directly to Parkview by Steuben County EMS.
The Sheriff’s Office stated they regret the error and that the crash still remains under investigation.
