CONVIS TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the torching of several mailboxes in Convis Township which took place over the holiday weekend.
The Sheriff’s Department began fielding complaints on Sunday morning at about 4:00 a.m. from Convis Township citizens.
The callers said that their mailboxes were damaged or destroyed after being set on fire.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Traffic Safety Units are conducting extra patrol in the township and surrounding areas.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s Detectives have also contacted the United States Postal Inspection Service for assistance in the investigation.
Citizens in the area are being asked to report any suspicious vehicles or persons due to the recent damage to personal property.
