ANAHEIM, CA (WKZO AM/FM) – Ryan Kreidler mashed a go-ahead home run as the Detroit Tigers edged the Anaheim Angels 5-4 Wednesday afternoon.
Kreidler delivered the game-winning hit after Kerry Carpenter tied the game at four with a solo shot in the top of the ninth inning. Eric Haase and Spencer Torkelson also went deep for Detroit, which improved to 52-and-85.
Jose Cisnero got the win in relief, while Gregory Soto secured his 25th save of the year.
Jose Quijada was charged with the loss in relief for Los Angeles, which fell to 60-and-77. Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout and Matt Thaiss homered in the losing effort.
Detroit improves to 52-and-85. The Tigers visit the Kansas City Royals tomorrow night.
