KANSAS CITY, MO (WKZO-AM/FM) – Eric Haase hit two home runs in the Tigers’ 10-2 pounding of the Royals in the opener of a three-game series at Kansas City. Haase had solo shots in the second and sixth innings, and Jeimer Candelario smacked a three-run homer in the second as Detroit collected 17 hits total.
Starter Joey Wentz had five strikeouts and allowed two hits and a walk in picking up the win.
The series continues this afternoon with Matt Manning starting for the Tigers against KC’s Jonathan Heasley.
