HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team scored early, then held on for a 1-1 Interstate 8 Conference draw at Hastings Thursday night.
Eduardo Arroyo scored the Cardinals lone goal on a penalty kick just over five minutes into the game.
Hastings got the tying goal with 2:16 left in the game on a direct kick from over 50 yards out that just barely got under the crossbar.
Freshman Franky Ramos three saves in goal in his first varsity start.
The Cardinals are now 3-4-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the Interstate 8 Conference. They will play a non-conference game at Sturgis Saturday.
Hastings is now 5-1-1.
The Coldwater JV team beat Hastings 7-0, with two goals from Liam Clark, and one each for Austin Accardi, Niko Downs, Moshen Umari, Umari Umari, and Rashed Ahmed.
Hunter Barnett made two saves in goal for Coldwater.
