BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Police believe they now have the vehicle involved in a drive-by shooting on Cliff Street that killed a toddler early Tuesday morning, September 20.
According to a news release, the black Audi Q7 was stolen from West Columbia Avenue on Sunday, September 18.
Authorities say that as of Wednesday, September 21, no one is in custody for the shooting.
Police were called to the 100 block of Cliff Street around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday morning and found that 2-year-old Kai Rowan Turner was shot. They say the suspect fired at least 10 shots at the multi-family residence, near Douglas Street, around 2 a.m. that morning, and that Turner’s family was not the shooter’s intended target.
Officers gave Turner first aid, but he ultimately died later at the hospital, police said.
They’re asking anyone with information on the vehicle or the incident itself to call the Battle Creek Police Department at 269-781-0911 or Silent Observer
at 269-964-3888.
