MARSHALL, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A student from the Marshall School District was taken into custody Tuesday after a police investigation into an alleged school threat.
The Marshall Police Department did not say how old the youngster was or what building may have been targeted.
They were made aware of the alleged threat on Tuesday.
According to a news release issued by Police Chief Josh Lankerd, the Marshall School Resource Officer along with the department’s Threat Assessment Team conducted what’s called a threat assessment.
The suspect along with the suspect’s parents were interviewed by police along with several witnesses.
Home visits were completed by the School Resource Officer with no firearms being located but the investigation uncovered evidence of what authorities believed was “a legitimate threat.”
The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and lodged at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home for threats of violence toward student/s charges.
